Lithium Carbonate
Main content: 99.2%~99.7%
Nature
White monoclinic crystal powder. Relative density 2 11. Melting point 723 ºC, slightly soluble in water (1.54 at o ºC); 0.72 at 100 ºC), insoluble in alcohol, soluble in acid. Below 600 ºC, it is thermally stable, and at 618 ºC, it partially decomposes into lithium oxide and carbon dioxide.
Manufacturing method
Comprehensive utilization method of brine: After extracting barium chloride from brine, the lithium containing feed solution is added with soda ash to remove calcium and magnesium ions from the feed solution. It is acidified with hydrochloric acid, evaporated to remove sodium chloride, and then iron is removed. Excess soda ash is added to precipitate lithium carbonate, which is then washed with water, centrifuged, and dried to obtain the finished lithium carbonate product.
Lime sintering method: spodumene concentrate (generally containing 6% lithium oxide) and limestone are mixed in a mass ratio of 1 ton (25-3), finely ground, and sintered at 1150-1250 ºC to produce lithium aluminate and calcium silicate. They are wet ground and crushed, and lithium hydroxide is leached out with a washing solution. After settling and filtering, the filter residue is returned or washed to remove residue. The leachate is evaporated and concentrated, and then sodium carbonate is added to produce lithium carbonate. After centrifugal separation and drying, the finished lithium carbonate product is obtained.
Purpose
It is a raw material for producing lithium compounds and metallic lithium. Can be used as an electrolytic bath additive for aluminum smelting, widely applied in industries such as glass, ceramics, medicine, and food. It can also be used in synthetic rubber, dyes, semiconductors, and military defense industries.
Security
Packaged in plastic woven bags lined with polyethylene plastic bags, with a net weight of 50kg per bag. Store in a ventilated and dry place, pay attention to rain and water immersion, prevent bag breakage during transportation and loading and unloading, and do not come into contact with acidic substances. Toxicity and protection: It has a significant stimulating effect, firstly on the gastrointestinal tract
Damage to the Tao, kidneys, and central nervous system; The toxicity order of lithium compounds is Li<LiCI<Li2C03<LiOH. Oral intake of lithium carbonate can cause skin rash, which is often the cause of skin and nasal mucosal ulcers. The maximum allowable concentration is 0 05mg/m3 and 0.5mg/m3, rubber gloves and protective masks should be worn during work, and attention should be paid to dust prevention to protect respiratory organs.
